In 2008 Sharpen Engineering were commissioned to manufacture Two Marine Grade Packaged Unit's and Six Marine Grade Air Handling units for end clients located in Indonesia and Abu Dhabi respectively.
Using In House Engineering capabilities, these units were manufactured to stringent Marine & Offshore specifications and a designed life span of at least 30 years duration.
This was achieved by using high grade 316L Stainless Steel for panelling, sub structure and major components with quality controlled welding processes.
The entire unit was 3D modelled in CAD to check operation and feasibility of design before construction. FEA and computer modelling was conducted to check the strength of the unit for various live and dead loads.
After completion, full factory acceptance tests were conducted at our premises to test successful operation and compliance with the specification. This testing was witnessed by third party inspectors in addition to the clients.
Some of the companies involved in this project were Worley Parsons, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, Conoco Philps, PT Nippon Steel Constructions Indonesia and Direct Engineering Services Marine & Offshore.
